YouTube iPad App Won’t let me sign in

Whenever I try and log into my YouTube account, the app opens up safari and brings up the Google sign in screen. However, while I can enter my email I cannot get anything to happen as the Next, create account, and all other buttons or links don’t do anything. I have tried redownloading the app, refreshing the page, and restarting my device but nothing seems to fix it. Whenever I try to log in on the safari app specifically, I don’t have any problems doing so. What do I need to do to resolve this?
