iPad airdrop

When I airdrop a pdf from my Mac to my iPad, for some reason it doesn’t give me an option to choose where I want to open the pdf and it automatically gets opened in books on the iPad. Both my iPad and Mac share the same Apple ID. How do I change settings so that I’m able to choose where to open my pdfs on iPad when I airdrop them?

Hello Bertiewanderwall,

While there is not a way to change the default PDF viewer on an iPad, what you can do is long press the PDF file. This should give you the options that are available to view that PDF.

If you would like to make a suggestion to Apple regarding the way this works, the best way to do that is to go here: Product Feedback - Apple

Cheers.
