How can I make Pencil update its firmware from 1.0 to 2.6?
iPad Pro (1st generation)
Has anyone been able to resolve this? I have a pencils on 02.48 and it won’t work with my iPad which is on 16.6. I’ve left it for hours connected but it just keeps dropping in and out of connectivity. It needs the new firmware but if the iPad can’t update it due to its firmware not being supported what can be done?
When I say I’ve left it for ours connected I mean plugged in to the iPad.
The Apple Pencil will automatically update its firmware, as needed, from the host device while the Pencil is connected to the host iPad for charging. There is no mechanism by which to manually trigger the update.
The Apple Pencil has not, to my knowledge, progressed beyond H/W version 1.0.0. The most recent Firmware version is v2.61.0.
Thanks for your input. The Pencil has been connected to the iPad for about 1.5 weeks and not getting any Firmware update. iPad did get an update yesterday, so I guess its only a matter of time (hopefully!).
