Cent ¢ symbol

Cent ¢ symbol not available in English Canada Keyboard. Apple mobile devices like iPhone have been around since 2007. I was hoping that that Apple would know that Canada has ¢'s also. If I use the American English Keyboard where the ¢ symbol is then the auto correct doesn't correct in Canadian English.

This was an issue that popped up a few years ago, and i played with trying to find a resolution at that time. As the OP shows the symbol is not available on his keyboard, nor was it available on my iPhone or iPad. To remedy it, simply add a new Keyboard (English US) from within Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard. From here add the US keyboard. The Canada keyboard can still be used as your primary, but simply adding the US keyboard should get rid of the missing ¢ symbol.

This is because you have the English USA keyboard. The $ is not available on the Canadian English Keyboard sadly. My original question was why Apple hasn't realized that Canada has the $ symbol for their currency since iPhone came out in 2007, 16 years later.

I'm not sure why you are posting about $ now, I thought the problem was ¢.

In any case, the correct answer was given by Stedman1: To have ¢ on the Canadian English keyboard (which will ensure that your spellcheck/autocorrect uses Canadian spellings), you also need to have the US English keyboard on your Keyboards list, even if you never use it.

This is indeed a bug which Apple should have fixed a very long time ago.

Wuuut?!?

I’ve always had the dollar sign, and have only lately added the American English keyboard to get the cent sign. I live in Canada, therefore have always had the Canadian English keyboard, and have never, ever seen that the dollar sign is missing. It’s right on the “123 keyboard!”

My original question was why Apple hasn't realized that Canada has the $ symbol for their currency since iPhone came out in 2007, 16 years later.

Not quite your original question, maybe your second or third question. But I can’t believe you’re not seeing the dollar sign…
