No audio for apple maps

I have CarPlay in a 2020 Mini Countryman. My new phone (IPhone13 ) worked compatibly until the last update (Version update 16.5.1)and I lost audio for my maps...really frustrating and makes me take my eyes off the road to be sure I am following the directions correctly...is this everyone's problem or my individual situation. Seems from the thread that many in past have experienced audio issues with maps. The solutions selected like make sure audio is on in the maps app...but, there is NO audio optional on or off selection in the app that I can find. Anyone out there with a solution?
