Twitter app requires iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, or newer.
Your options there are a newer (used, refurb) or new iPhone.
For WhatsApp Messenger, that lists iOS 12 as its minimum, and should work. Update your iPhone 6 to current (12.5.7), and also check for app updates. If both iOS and the app are current, then remove WhatsApp, remove any add-on VPN client apps, restart the iPhone, re-download WhatsApp (and no VPNs), and try again. If that fails, contact Meta WhatsApp Support.
