I opened my MacBook Air 2020 one day to a bunch of black and some other coloured vertical lines running across the right side of my screen.
There are also lines at the bottom of the screen, that flicker every time I use Google Chrome.
How do I fix this problem and is it serious?

I think it's a hardware related serious issue. You'd better contact Apple Support or take your MacBook Air to your local retail AppleStore, Genius Bar or Apple Authorize Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air there.
