MXK22ZM/A - Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Cable - line level output?
Let me be absolutely clear, this is about the MXK22ZM/A Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Cable.
Do not confuse this with the more common Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter.
Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Cable (1.2m) - White - Apple (UK)
I just got an FiiO E11 headphone amplifier, which expects a line level input. Therefore, I need to know if this cable provides a line level output, not a headphone level output. The two output levels are not the same, contrary to popular belief.
If it is line level output, the volume will be fixed and can’t be changed on the iOS device. This is preferable.
If it is headphone level output, the volume can be changed on the iOS device. This would be unsuitable for me.
The older 30-pin dock connector had dedicated line out pins. This disables the volume control of the iOS device when in use, so the output is appropriate for amplification. I am hoping the Lightning connector has a similar feature?
Apple’s own support were not able to answer this question, so I’d like to ask anyone who has one of these.
Thanks
