Mac Mail

My mail in my in box disappears after about 3 weeks. I was told I have to archive it. This is new for me, a 25 year Mac Mail user. Is there something else I can change to keep my mail in my in box without having to move it to the Archive folder?

I have never archived mail, and have work email going back 25 years in "On My Mac" folders...

My inbox currently goes back to 2016....therefore I do not suspect "archive" is your way forward.

This is Mail.app on Ventura macOS 13.4.1c ?

You do not really clarify if this is a old issue, new issue, what changed?

—You can try rebuilding individual mailboxes..

Rebuild mailboxes in Mail on Mac

—For problem accounts the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account(s) from the Mail.app, then add it back.

Note—

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss
