iPad locked to previous owner

I bought an iPad from a guy I knew, and when I plugged it up, it said lock to previous owner. What do I do?

You contact the guy you knew, so he can remove his info from the ipad. That is the only way to remove icloud activation lock.

You can go to iCloud.com/find and log in with the Apple ID and password that is signed in on the iPad, then click on "all devices" or "show devices" and click on the iPad, then remove it. That will remove it from your account and free it up for him to log in. Or simply go to the iPad and sign out if you can. Otherwise it will be locked to you until you can do one of these two options, and he won't be able to use it,.
