How often does iCloud automatically back up

If you are still plugging into charge, connected to WiFi and the screen is locked, I would try moving the device to another room and see if that makes a difference.
I would also force restart the iPad to clear out the cobwebs.

Approximate every 24 hours or once a day. If you plug your device into charge and it is locked and connected to WiFi at the same time every day, it should be pretty consistent that it updates at the same time every day.
Every day, as long as you are plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi, or have chosen to also back up your phone over cellular
It used to do it every 24 hours but stopped recently and only does it every 3-4 days. Any suggestions
