Real time updates on Apple Watch ultra

My watch received the latest update 16.5.1 (c), but is now having issues displaying current step count and hourly progress. The only way I can get it to show the current count is to remove the watch and reenter the code. Any ideas?

Try to force restart your Apple Watch Ultra by pressing simultaneously on the Digital Crown and the side button until you see the Apple logo (this can take up to 20 seconds.).

If this does not fix the issue, unpair your Apple Watch and pair it again: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support.

No, it’s not a third party app. It’s part of the native fitness tracking built into every Apple Watch….but as an addition, I noticed that the red calorie counter counter only 2 calories burned for the day.

And sorry, it wasn’t my watch that received the update to iOS 16.5.1 (c), it was my phone. My watch does have the latest watch iOS, as I keep everything current on a near-daily basis.
