Face ID

Model : Iphone 11 pro Max

Version: 16.5.1(c)

I enabled faceID on the WhatsApp application just to check the security features. After disabling the faceID, re-launching the whatsapp application still requests faceID to open it.

After multiple version updates, Today I turned off the faceID to the entire Iphone in thought of resolving the issue of its own. Now Iphone is forcing me to enable the faceID from settings and it is not allowing me to enter the Whatsapp application.

Hello MadAstronaut,

If you no longer want to use Face ID on your device, you'll need to turn it off in that application before completely turning Face ID off.

If you've already turned Face ID off, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode, and set it back up. Once it's set up, go into this WhatsApp application and turn off the Face ID requirement that you enabled in the Settings inside that app. You can then go back to Settings > Face ID & Passcode, and turn Face ID off.

If this WhatsApp application is stuck on this Face ID page, you can try removing and reinstalling the application.

1. Touch and hold the app.
2. Tap Remove App Remove App icon.
3. Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.

Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once it's removed just go into the App Store, search for the app and reinstall it.

Cheers!

I have tried all the options you have mentioned earlier which does not disable the faceID on an application. Un-Installing and Re-installing the application shouldn't be the option to fix the issue. I am aware that removing and installing it again will fix the issue, but Face Id is the one which is obstructing me from launching the app either when Face ID is turned ON or turned OFF.

This is purely a bug from FACE ID team which is nowhere related to the application.
