Switching iTunes Library not working

How to switch iTunes libraries

Press and hold the Option key, then open the Apple Music app.
In the window that appears, click Choose Library.
Select the iTunes library that you want to switch to.
Click Choose.

This does not work.... On OS v10.13.6... iTunes v12.8.3.1 After performing the above steps, it continues to point to the old iTunes library location.

iTunes on Windows; Can't access music after downloading app I was having a lot of trouble with iTunes on my Windows PC. I deleted the iTunes app and re-installed it. I also downloaded the Apple Music app, which I didn't have before. After signing in with my Apple ID, iTunes does not show my music library. It only has screens for podcasts and audiobooks, neither of which I have. On Apple Music, I can see the songs, but the play arrow is greyed out. I can't play any songs. I like the format of iTunes better than Apple Music, but I'm willing to use Apple Music if I have to. HELP!

Recent Additions not in Library after moving back from Apple Music to iTunes After years of using iTunes, I tried switching to Apple Music about a month ago. It just wasn't for me, so I have reverted to iTunes. I didn't have a subscription, I just used AM for listening to my music library (all files stored locally on my PC). During my time using Apple Music, I added some music to my library (CD rips and MP3s, not Apple purchases). Now that I've reverted to iTunes, my library is at the same point it was when I first made the switch (ie the last month of additions are not there). Is there any way I can add the additions I made while using Apple Music, or will I need to just manually identify and add these all over again? I am using ITunes 12.13.7.1 on Windows 10 if that helps

"Music" takes forever to read my "iTunes" library OS Monteray 12.6.6 I am trying to migrate my music into "Music". I have been using iTunes all these years. So now there is 115Gb of music in the iTunes library. But when I alt-open the iTunes Library.itl file, "Music" it did spin the wheel for more than 10 hours and nothing happend. When I doubleclick on the iTunes Library.itl file "Music" just opens it's own new Library with 15 numbers in it. How do I get "Music" to read and regognise the "old" ITunes library???

Although this is specific to a PC, see if this also works on a Mac:

see the "Tunes Media folder location" section.
