M2 Macbook Pro not syncing with iCloud

I bought a new M2 MacBook Pro. Have had it in Geek Squad at BestBuy as well as having engineering team at Apple working on getting the iCloud to sync. This does NOT seem to be an issue with iCloud itself as I am able to create files on my phone, old MacBook and two other iPads and iCloud is working just fine.

I have been working with 4 different people with Apple directly and they have not been able to resolve the issue. Now I am having to wait with an unspecified turn around with the Apple Engineering team.

When consumers only have 14-60 days return policy (depending on where they buy from) this seems to be a huge issue.

Does Apple have any idea what the issue is and the fix for the issue? I am debating on returning the new computer and replacing the battery on my old computer as I can not find any NEW M1 MacBook Pros available. Does not make sense keeping a computer if there is no fix in the near future and where I run out of my warranty period.

Hello Carrie_J_R,

It sounds like you're having problems with iCloud on your new MacBook Pro and have been actively working with Apple Support on a resolution. Given this information, it would be best to continue with Apple's engineering team on a solution to this issue. You can contact them for an update here: Get Support

Apple does offer a 14 day return policy for new products. If you feel this issue is related to the device and not with iCloud, you could return it within the 14 days of purchase: Returns & Refunds - Shopping Help - Apple

However, if the issue is related to iCloud, this may result in the same issue on another new Mac or Apple device, so it may be best to hear back from Apple on this before you return the product.

In the end, returning or keeping the Mac is your call. Apple Support will be dedicated to providing you with a solution given enough time to do so.

Take care.
