Hi,
I just bought an external 4K monitor(LG 27UP850N-W) which has PWD up to 90W via usb c.
will it be a problem to use both magsafe charger and plug the monitor via usb to my MBP M2 pro 14?
There is no options to disable usb c charging from monitor.
will the macbook prioritize magsafe charger over usb C?
I also use AIDante Pro since the beginning of purchasing my macbook and has limited the charging at 70%.
Thanks.
Mac will not over charge—no harm there.
I would plug the magsafe in first to insure priority.
" AIDante Pro" that is your choice— I will say it is detrimental to lock in one specific %.
*BHM is dynamic not static, it will exercise the battery between 72% - 100% and typically I see 80% more generally .
the software learns as it goes from the feedback both usage pattern & the battery info, in an effort to best prolong the working life of your battery.

The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only—this is how you optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.
