Apple does not get involved with lost or stolen phones, but you have already received the best advice on that topic in the other answers here.
It might be important to note that if your iPhone was running iOS 16.....it likely was....and Find My was enabled on the phone, it is still possible for the phone to be located on the Find My map even though the phone might be turned off. There would need to be at least one other iPhone in close proximity to your phone to pick up the Bluetooth signal from your phone.
Unfortunately, thieves know this, so they are fond of placing the iPhone in a special type of bag that will not allow signals to reach the phone.
Be extremely careful if you receive any messages from "Apple" or "Apple Service" advising you that your phone has been found and just need to provide some additional information (like your Apple ID and Password) so the phone can be returned to you.
Any message like this is a SCAM that is trying to trick you into providing personal information so the bad guys can get into your phone. Delete any messages like this that you might receive.
