Hi rosemarie248,

It sounds like you're looking to remove a recent rapid security response update. If so, and the update is for iOS 16.5.1 (a), iPadOS 16.5.1 (a), or macOS Ventura 13.4.1 (a) check out and complete the steps in the article here: If you applied Rapid Security Response iOS 16.5.1 (a), iPadOS 16.5.1 (a), or macOS Ventura 13.4.1 (a)

As mentioned in the article you can remove it with the following steps:

"You can choose to remove the Rapid Security Response:

  • iPhone or iPad: Open Settings > About > iOS Version, then tap "Remove Security Response." Tap Remove to confirm.
  • Mac: Choose the Apple menu  > About this Mac, then click More Info. Under macOS, click the Info button  next to the version number. Click Remove and Restart, then click to confirm."

If there's a different issue present, let us know a bit more about what's occurring and we'll continue to assist.

Cheers.

This has happened with my iphone. It's been locked several hours and I don't want to resort to restoring because it hasn't been backed up since I got back from vacation abroad a couple of days ago. A few minutes ago I got a message that Rapid Response had been removed, though I didn't do this. The phone is still locked. It may be that someone is trying to take control of it?

Hi Lexie, Im thinking the same, as my passcode is correct and its not accepting it so I can at least do what Susan suggested. Now its locked for 8 hours every-time I put in my passcode, I have years of photos and important things I cant afford to loose. If I figure anything that works as I refuse to reset it and erase everything memories that cant be ever made again with my dad and mom who's battling serious illnesses. Please do the same Ill keep trying to look for answers. Best of luck to you as well. Have a blessed evening. :)
