The 2017 2nd gen iPad Pro is listed to be compatible with the up and coming iPadOS 17.

I believe it is because that year and model was the first iPad Pro to have the 120 hz “Pro-motion screen refresh rate as all other tech specs of the 2017, 2nd gen iPad Pro models are all identical to the 2015/2016 1st gen iPad Pro models, which have ended their iPadOS support at iPadOS 16.

So, your 2017 iPad Pro model will get one more year of full support, from Apple, with iPadOS 17.

Beyond, that no one here will know, only Apple and they won't list compatible devices, for the next iPadOS 18, until maybe next May or June of 2024.

Be a advised that your 2017 iPad Pro is going on 6-years old and will be nearly 7-years old by Fall of 2024.

So, full iPadOS support of your 2017 iPad Pro may end by the end of Fall 2024.

All of this stated, third party app support, for the most part, continues for about 2-3 years, or so, AFTER Apple ends full OS support of a subset of their devices.

So, when Apple ends full OS support of your 2017, 2nd gen iPad Pro, third party app updates, on your 2017 iPad Pro, will still be coming for an additional 2-3 years, or so.

Best of Luck to You!
