Powerbeats Pro hijacks phone calls when off ears

It's so frustrating when I'm in my car listening to music and I get a phone call. I answer the call on my car's interface then my Powerbeats Pro, hijacks the call disconnecting the signal from my car. Now I have to find the stupid earbuds to continue the conversation! IT'S SO ANNOYING!!! Shouldn't they only work when they're in your ears??? How do I fix this?

Hey ohiokeys,

If you are using an Android, you still would want to make sure your software stays updated for the latest technology and security.

The following steps below are found in the Beats User Guide in the article Turn Beats Flex automatic play/pause and call answering on or off in the Beats app for Android - Apple Support

Turn automatic call answering on or off
1. In the Beats app for Android, display the Beats Flex device screen.
2. Scroll down to Automatically Answer Calls, then tap the switch to turn it on or off.

Reach back out if you have any further questions.

Take care!

I'm an Android user. The Beats are outside the case but NOT in my ears. I want to power them down when they're not in use like other earbuds I've used. It seems like since the technology is there to know when they're in my ears it could easily disable connectivity when they're off ears. Although, I may begin the phone conversation from the car phone, the Beats hijacks the call while sitting in the cup holder or my gym bag. What's the fix?
