Why are my text message bubbles green?
Because the person you are texting with either does not have an iPhone or has an iPhone but does not have iMessage turned on.

The green background with white text is a terrible colour combination. The contrast between those two colours is worst to look at in dim rooms when screen brightness is low. Apple absolutely needs to allow colour customization, especially for sight impaired people. An even bigger question is how have Apple users been ok with this for so long?
