Check if your iPhone is eligible for an update, -> iPhone models compatible with iOS 16

iPhone models compatible with iOS 16 – Apple Support (UK)

Then go to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Download and Install.

See -> If your iPhone or iPad won't update -> If your iPhone or iPad won't update - Apple Support
