Keyboard Lighting.
keyboard lighting doesn't work after I shut down and turn on my M1 air. It works only after I log in. This is quite inconvenient when I am trying to log-in in a dark environment.

That would be normal.
If I am not mistaken two things come into play.
1 - Until the Operating System is full loaded which would require a Log In
2 - The sensor in the Built In Webcam that senses the Ambient Light would not to Active and activate the keyboard lighting requirements
