Anyone else still had issues connecting their iphone 13pro max via bluetooth to their brandspanking new, out of the box and fully charged Insta 360 3x camera- after trying every single trouble shooting action possible????

I pulled my new insta 360 3x out of the box, charged it up, downloaded the insta app, made sure bluetooth is turned on in the privacy section in the phone, tried to pair it, got the wifi connected and updated the firmware on the camera, tried to pair it again and have been going around in circles trying to pair the bluetooth on them ever since, turnng the bluetooth off and on, turning the phone and camera off and on again, deleting and reinstalling the app, and everything I have tried has made zero difference.

So I went to the Apple website for help, read their solutions only to find out that I have actually tried even more steps than they say......so here I am, hoping that someone else out there may have had the same experience- therefore a solution for me.

I would be eternally grateful for help.

Many devices require that you pair them through the app, not Settings>Bluetooth. I recommend you carefully review the instructions for the device. If you continue to have problems with the camera, you should contact the manufacturer.

I actually had a very amusing conversation with them last night.......

"Sorry X3 is connect to cell phone via wifi, not BT

If you could use wifi connect camera to cell phone, then the camera is working properly, don't worry

Yes it needs to use BT as assist connection, but it still needs connect by wifi to transfer data

Sir/miss, sorry currently X3 can only use wifi to connect to APP, Bluetooth is used as an auxiliary function to search and confirm the camera signal, but sorry that you can't actually use Bluetooth to connect to the APP

We will forward it to the R&D team for further evaluation. We are always glad to receive valuable suggestions from our users, which will help us provide better products.

To help you understand the connectiong, pls allow me to use a metaphor

It's like you're crossing a bridge across a river, but using a cane to help you

In this case BT is the cane to help you, but actually you were crossed through the river by the bridge, not the cane

Both wifi and BT is needed, but it's using wifi to transfer the data

To avoid misunderstanding, may I confirm if is there anything wrong when connecting camera to the APP?

Cause normally BT won't affect the connection..."

So every single video I have watched both on YT from seasoned users aswell as the actual Insta quickstart video all show their phones and app connecting via bluetooth and even the quickstart guide and everything on the Insta website says....bluetooth connection and how to troubleshoot if it's not connecting (which has not worked because my phone is on the right settings o begin with and I have turned them all off them on again- including my phone....), but yet their very ambiguous response on one hand is saying that you don't need bluetooth (except the the very first thing the app does is tell you to connect via bluetooth immediately- and will not allow you to do anything else on the app or with the camera until you do...) and then tells you in the next sentence that you do also require bluetooth too.

So I am going to contact the 6 makers of each YT video that I watched and discuss this problems with them as they seem to know much more that the Insta support team.
