Using Air Tag

I tried to use Air Tag on my car as it’s been stolen before. However, on testing it on my sons car he was notified that he was being tracked by me. Is there a way of turning this off so the thief dot know there’s a tag in the car?

Sorry, but no. An Apple AirTag is not designed for this purpose. It was designed to help you locate a misplaced or lost item ... not track people (in this case a car thief) or pets.

There are dedicated devices, like Lo-Jack, for this purpose, which relies on GPS for tracking a stolen vehicle.
