How do I get Safari on my iPhone to open on previous tab?

How do I get safari on my phone to open on previous tab rather than opening a new one each time I open it? Thanks.

Hello eilanna,

Are you on Mac or iPhone/iPad?

On Mac / macOS, the best way is probably putting them into Tab Groups.

On iPhone/iPad your previous session should remain unless you either closed them yourself or have a setting that removes them for you.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll down and tap on Safari
  3. Scroll down and tap on Close Tabs
  4. Select Manually

My best recommendation would be using Tab Groups. These will sync across all of your Apple devices and allow you to categorize your tabs into specific groups/sections.

  1. Group tabs in Safari on Mac - Apple Support
  2. Organize your tabs with Tab Groups in Safari on iPhone - Apple Support

I hope this helps!
