I have the same issue as described here:

Except my app is not Safari, it applies to --any-- app. The width is so small it doesn't allow the filename to be seen. Please refer the linked post above, it contains screenshot and is exactly my same issue (and everyone's, I assume, unless they found a fix hehe).
I don't usually use that view, but I believe you can resize each individual section (not sure how much though...you may need to adjust the other columns to make a specific column larger). Or you can change the view to "List" view so the whole window is showing just the current folder...this is the option I personally like to use. The icon next to the arrow keys just above the Sidebar should be where you can select the type of "View" you want to see in that Window....you can see that icon is showing the columns view in the screenshot for the article you linked.

Hah. You're right. I"m just blind. There is a little || on the bottom of each divider line. With that I can do exactly what I need. :D
