Scanned photos with annotations on the back

I am "scanning" some old photos (paper) by taking pictures of them with an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Some of these old photos have handwritten annotations on the back.

And for a few of these photos, I would like to keep the original handwritten annotation, so I will take a picture of the back of the photo also.

Is there any way to create a relationship between the front picture and the back picture of a photo?

Or other ways to keep the front and back picture together?

When I want to combine the front and the back of a scanned photo, I combine them into one photo with an external editor. I am using Grphic Converter for this. There I can extend the canvas of a photo to add space on one side, where I can copy and paste the text from the backside.

Or you could print the two sides of the photo in Photos to a PDF file with both photos on the same page, then convert the saved PDF file to a JPEG and reimport it to Photos.
