iPhone with the Sri Lankan SIM card overheating. Unable to connect to Wi-Fi even though everyone else can.

Has anyone experience this problem? Looking for Solutions. I have an iPhone 13 Pro. It overheats, when charging, directly or using a morphi. (just to make sure it wasn’t an electrical thing). The only time it will really charge without overheating is if I shut it down. I have read about all the things that causes overheating and none of them apply. (yes I know Sri Lanka is it warm country, but it is not in the heat). When I check my battery health, it appears to be more than adequate. An additional frustration is that I am not able to regularly connect to Wi-Fi that everyone else can. I travel extensively and this particular phone has had several foreign Sim cards in it. I’ve never had this problem before Sri Lanka. I am using all Apple chargers and lightning cables. I am using a type G plug.

Let’s define overheating: If the phone shuts down and says that it must cool off, it has overheated. That might happen if the phone is in a very warm area (>30ºC), but should not happen in normal use; if it does, that is a hardware problem.

If it says that charging is paused to allow the phone to cool off, that is normal when fast charging. It typically pauses around 80%, then resumes after a while if you leave it connected.

SIMs have nothing to do with Wi-Fi. If your Wi-Fi connection to your router has problems the first step is to restart your router. If the problem occurs with all wi-Fi networks (Wi-Fi, NOT mobile data) first step is to Reset Network Settings. After than your phone may need repair.

Thank you. Reading between the lines, regarding the heating, you are saying don’t worry. (It has never shut down, it just feels so hot to the touch.) I am satisfied with that. Being in Sri Lanka, I really don’t know how I would take it for repair. I am near no major city. But perhaps when I go to another location I can find some help. Right now I am volunteering at an English language school another two weeks in a very rural area.
