why isnt my message working?

Why isn’t my message app working?

I tried everything, going to setting and clicking my phone number. It said it was unable to connect. Trying signing in with my Apple ID or a new Apple ID and it still wouldn’t work!!!! It would not let me do neither.

now I have no way to communicate with anyone. Does anyone know what could be the problem or how I can fix it?
