Manage Uninstalled Apps

On my iPhone, in Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data is an item called "Uninstalled Apps." The quantity is 3.0 GB. What is it? Should I delete it? If yes, how do I delete it?

Thank you.

Hello Marinite,

The Uninstalled Apps category would be reflecting the cellular data usage from applications that you no longer have installed on the device. For example, say you had the Facebook application installed on your device and then you deleted it from the device a week ago. Let's also say that while you had the app installed on the device, you used 500 MB of cellular data through it. That 500 MB of cellular data usage would now be reflected under the Uninstalled Apps category since there's no longer a Facebook application in the list of apps to show that usage under.

Should you delete it? Well that's totally up to you. If you regularly monitor the cellular data usage page to see how much data you've used and you want to start fresh, then reset the statistics.

How do you delete it? To reset the cellular data usage statistics go to Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data, and tap Reset Statistics.

*Depending on your wireless carrier, some of them automatically reset the statistics every billing cycle and you will not have the option to reset them yourself. If this is how your carrier works, under the Cellular Data section you will have two tabs "This Billing Period" and "Last Billing Period", and there will be no "Reset Statistics" option at the bottom of the page. If this is the case, you'll need to wait until your next billing cycle for those statistics to reset on their own and clear the usage from the Uninstalled Apps category.

Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad

Cheers!
