I use the headphone jack on my MiniMac computer to cable to my sound system board for amplification of the computer audio. After having a power surge I have no sound out of the headphone jack but my sound system shows I have a continuous signal out

I use the headset out jack on my MiniMac computer to connect to my sound system board for amplification from my computer. After experiencing a power surge which shut down my computer I no longer have anything coming out of the headphone jack after restarting the computer.The computer speakers work fine. My sound system shows I have a continuous signal coming from the computer which causes a roaring hum. I have changed the cable and have plugged the headphone jack into a guitar amplifier and still have no sound except for the roaring hum. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Dan

Hi Dan ( LVCFneedshelp) do you have an Intel or Apple Silicon MiniMac? If it’s the first one, doing a reset smc/pmu then zapping pram 3-4 times on startup might help you, but as hcsitas posted, the port might be fried/defective, so take it in for evaluation/diagnosis, either Apple in-store or AASP ( apple authorized service provider) contact either one and schedule a repair
