What can i update my MacBook pro 12 operating system to the newest is not compatible.

My MacBook pro 12 needs updated. too old for newest os what version can i update too?

By "MacBook Pro 12", do you mean


  • A MacBook Pro or MacBook Air whose model name includes the year 2012? For all of these, Catalina is the end of the line.
  • A MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015)? Big Sur is the end of the line.
  • A MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2016)? Monterey is the end of the line.
  • A MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2017)? You can upgrade all the way to Ventura, although you will not be able to upgrade to Sonoma when it comes out.


Check the model name in About This Mac, in the Apple () menu. Then check out:
