How can I change a standard user back to an administrator?

I was told to change myself to a standard user from an administrator in order to be able to perform the task I was trying to perform. I completed the change and now I cannot change it back.

I do have another administrator but cannot sign-in to that admin.

How can I complete this operation?

I have asked this question before but the solution did not work. There was another solution but cannot get back to the person who said "If this does not work, there is one more solution".

Just change the password on your other Admin account. Then use that admin account to change your standard back to an admin account.

Try the steps in the above article... if it doesn't work click the link at the bottom of that article and follow those steps.

Good Luck!

What type task requires you to be a Standard user only? An Admin user has all the rights of a Standard user and then some.

What's preventing you from signing in as your other Admin user?

If I need a replacement Admin user, I just create it and then copy pertinent data I put on an external drive just for that purpose.
