every selection I make is color outlined, this just started when I downloaded Monteray.
It's distracting & annoying but can't seem to get rid of it.

This didn't solve the problem, Apple tech couldn't figure out how to stop it, they said to use safe mode. But what seems to have worked is system preferences, accessibility, color, change color to "other" and outlines are normal. Like this one.

Try disabling System Preferences > Accessibility > Keyboard > Navigation: Enable Full Keyboard Access.
system preferences, color, then change alert color and highlight color. This doesn't get rid of the outlines but does make them barely visible.
Not sure what you changed since there is no System Preferences > Accessibility > Color. But glad you have it fixed.
There's no System Preferences > Color either. It's System Preferences > General.
At least now I know what you meant. Most browsers highlight tabs.
