My car is coming up as AirPods

This is a very funny issue. I’ve never seen it before, nor did I find a similar thread in the ASC Forum.

Please try one last thing. Remove the car from Bluetooth, and remove your device from your car’s Bluetooth or Phone page, whatever your car uses to list this. Now, turn off Bluetooth on your device, and turn off your car. Next, Force restart iPhone. Now turn your car back on, and try to reconnect.

Try this: Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Now, tap the blue “i” next to your car, then tap “Device Type.” Lastly, select “Car Stereo.”

Was your friend able to pick the car as “Car Stereo” in Bluetooth?

What does “no slow music” mean?
