Email "User Does Not Exist" for my long standing email address

I sent an email from my gmail account and cc:d my own apple email address--one I have been using for years. It bounced back "User does not exist". The email address is correct. I tried from another apple email alias and got the response "Address not found. Your message was not delivered because the address could not be found or is unable to receive email." The other alias works fine.
