TalkTalk out going mail stopped!

This morning my TalkTalk email stopped sending, there are no issues receiving email they just won't send. The SMTP server is saying 'Offline'. I have spoken to TalkTalk and they cannot see an issue at their end. Is anyone else having issues today?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

Quit Mail and relaunch it...

Use Connection Doctor in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

For Mail you can hold the Shift key down and then launch your mail app and compare your results

if it is a talktalk issue contact their support to start the investigation

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

I will try this however, I now realise I am experiencing the same issue on my iPhone mail too which I think may rule out a MacBook issue.

I have 2 TalkTalk accounts and 1 Tiscali account and all are giving the error 'Trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. Verify username and password are correct.' I have verified the usernames and passwords but still no joy.
