Trouble with Wallet, visa & adding funds to Suica card

Downloaded Suica card, used on arrival. Attempting to add more funds. “Payment not complete” Suica Not enabled for in app payments.. used a Visa card for initial set up. what can I do to correct

FYI, foreign issue VISA cards cannot be used to add money to Suica, PASMO, or ICOCA. Use Mastercard or AMEX.

Make sure you add money outside of the Mobile Suica nightly downtime maintenance period: 1am~5am JST. The payment won't go through during that time. On the plus side some non-JP VISA cards are working for adding money to Suica again but not in Wallet. Use the black Add Money with Apple Pay button in Suica App if your card isn't working in Wallet.

You have to register a Mobile Suica account to use the Apple Pay In-App feature. Instructions here:

This was the correct answer & the problem. As I was not advised of this Suica quirk ahead of time, I arrived in Japan with only VISA cards (no Mastercard or AX). Was able to add more $$ at one subway machine but not at others.

No the problem is now spread through my master card issued on Apple Card as well

even I tried using suica app and clicked on the black button it brought me back to Apple wallet page
