Microsoft license on same device but different apple id

Can my Microsoft license still work if I change my apple id in the same device?

My mom bought a macbook for her and also installed microsoft but decided not to use it and gave it to me however, I'm reluctant to change the apple id because it might restrict me having access to any of the apps installed or anything.

Is it safe to change the apple id without buying a new license or spending any cash for it to work?
