charging wirelessly in car

I hope someone can help me. I have an iPhone 14 pro max, and I have a 2023 Cadillac XT5 with wireless charging. The phone will not stay connected to the wireless charge with the car on, with a case on or off. When I first put it in the charging slot the lightning bolt on the car screen shows green, then it changes to amber after a few seconds. I went over to the car dealership thinking it was the car, but the technician has the exact same phone and the lightning bolt stayed green they tried several phones, and it stayed green, the technician had a Otterbox case, so I changed my phone case, and it still doesn't work. I have an iPhone 8plus and it stays green when in the charging slot.

Hey nachos4,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

Here's an article that provides great information about wirelessly charging your iPhone: How to wirelessly charge your iPhone.

If you continue to experience the issue, we suggest testing with a different wireless charger. This step will help isolate the issue even further.

If it continues to happen, we suggest contacting Apple support here: Get Support.

Take care.

I'm having similar issue when trying to charge my iphone SE in my 2023 Hyundai Kona. I place the phone on the charging pad & a lighting bolt lights up (I think green but I've seen amber too). I just drove for an hour & the iphone's case is pretty hot & the charge is 55%. Not right or normal. (hubby having non-charging issue with his (newer) iphone in our 2023 Mazda CX-5 Turbo) We must be doing something wrong? (we place the phones screen-side up) Any advice appreciated. I didn't take my case off as people with these issues says it makes no difference whether case is on or off. My case is not very thick but is "clear with glitter". Maybe the glitter is causing my issue, but I doubt it. And I have no clue how to get the case off and back on & don't want to have to do that when driving!
