Using my AirPods

Okay so I’ve been using my new AirPods Pro 2nd gen for a few days now and it just suddenly stopped connecting, and I mean connecting automatically when you open the case. When I press the little back button once, it shows connected. Then also, the last time I checked the pods themselves, their battery percentage was 78 but the case was 100. That’s how it still is, I’ve stopped using them till I figure out what’s wrong, I’ve tried the forget the device method. What should I do?

PS my iPhone is running, iOS 16.2, I’m planning on updating to the latest iOS and then checking it out, please what can I do? Because I’m really worried :(
