Why was I attempted to be charged $35.25 for 1 song that was supposed to be $1.29?

Sounds like there's a pengind charge or something else is being charged.

Again, check your charges as shown in the support document I linked above.

Its highly unlikely the charge is for a single song. Verify your existing charges as explained.
