Airdrop was visible till a while ago, and for reasons unknown started showing disabled in the toggle bar present in the action centre, and couldn't be located in the Finder.

Not sure what is the "Action Centre"...(?)
Shut down and restarted all devices involved here, and compare your results.
>System Settings>Airdrop
Make some changes, and compare your results
Use AirDrop on iPhone to send items to nearby devices
