No password for ipad. Aunt Died and I was given the ipad, but no password

My aunt passed away a few months ago and I have her iPad. The problem is, is that I can't open it without her password. I do have her email and password for her account, but not the ipad itself.

I tried to plug into my Macbook pro, but it's not even acknowledging it.

Help, please

You will need to restore the iPad to factory condition and then enter the Apple ID email and password when asked.
