That sounds like a possible hardware problem. Try a forced reset (reboot)

and if that doesn't help, Contact Apple Support and arrange to get the watch checked by Apple Service.

Try and re add your card to the Apple Watch wallet to see if the issue persists.

if it persists, it could have something to do with the internal NFC chip on your watch

Is this a problem only on one specific terminal, or at all card payment terminals?
