I have an sbcglobal.net email account.

I tried to use the apple email app and after putting my email, it asks for the user ID. I placed my correct user ID, and the window stays frozen and does not allow me to go to the next window to place a new password. I changed my password in the iPhone a day before for which I need to change the password in the Mac. Cannot get to the password section. any ideas?

thanks

Hello Gorilla_1968,

We see you need help with making changes to your email account configuration. You mention the Mail app seems to freeze when you open it, so we'd recommend trying to make changes to that account through Settings.

Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
  2. Tap the SBCGlobal.net account you may already have saved.
  3. Tap Account again.
  4. Tap the password field then input your correct password.
  5. Tap Done when finished.

If that still doesn't work, you may need to delete that mail account from Settings then re add it there with the correct information. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > [mail account name]. Tap Delete Account at that screen.

You may also want to restart your device then go through the process to update your password. Often a simple restart will resolve an issue like the app freezing: Restart your iPhone

Best regards.
