my MacBook stop working and overheat

hello , I have MacBook Pro 5,5 and I already upgrade memory to 6GB and SSD HD , system Mac OS Monterey. most time Mac stop working and always overheat

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

That Mac isn't designed to run anything higher than El Capitan. Not that it would overheat because of that per se, but you are making your computer into a jalopy by trying to install unsupported operating systems on it.


As for overheating, your installing an SSD yourself could have had you improperly install the heat sensor, and same with the RAM. I would bring the machine into an authorized service provider and have them verify the installations were done correctly. RAM you want to make sure is designed for that specific vintage MacBook Pro.

are three companies that list the actual vintage and model name next to all RAM modules of what they are compatible with. Any other vendors you get RAM from may not be 100% to spec, and could conceivably create overheating situations.
