Delete unwanted calendar invitation on my iPhone

When selecting the phishing calendar invite it does not have the option at the bottom of the screen to 'unsubscribe from this calendar' like a video I saw on how to remove it. I have not clicked on any links in the invitation however at the bottom of the screen it had three options - 'Accept, Maybe, & Decline' - I did click on the decline button but it was not successful in removing the calendar invitation.

What do I do now?

Hello,

I hope this helps. I finally got rid of mine. Please read until the end to avoid steps you think you don’t need to take.

So first I found it was from my Hotmail account calendar.

I first went into settings on my iPhone and typed calendar in the search and tapped accounts.

I then went to my Hotmail account that had my email address and tapped it.

I then tapped the green button to turn off the calendar.

NEXT,

I went online (on my phone) and logged in my Hotmail account.

(Bypass the screen when it asks if you want to go to the app and stay online.)

I then went to the calendar and when my screen stopped blinking from it loading this same invite over and over I tapped on one.

then I scrolled to the bottom and deleted the event.

Last, I went to the settings. Accounts, and turned my Hotmail calendar back on.

"Delete spam calendars and events on iPhone

If you get unwanted calendar invitations or event notifications, you might have accidentally subscribed to a spam calendar. To remove the events, delete the calendar subscription.

How to remove calendar spam on your iPhone in iOS 14.6 or later

  1. Open the Calendars app.
  2. Tap the unwanted Calendar event.
  3. Tap Unsubscribe from this Calendar at the bottom of the screen.
  4. To confirm, tap Unsubscribe.

How to remove calendar spam on your iPhone in earlier versions of iOS

  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. At the bottom of the screen, tap Calendars.
  3. Look for a calendar that you don't recognize. Tap the More Info button  next to that calendar, then scroll down and tap Delete Calendar.

If this doesn't fix the issue, delete the calendar subscription in Settings:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Calendar > Accounts. Or if you use iOS 13, tap Passwords & Accounts > Accounts instead.
  3. Tap Subscribed Calendars.
  4. Look for a calendar that you don't recognize. Tap it, then tap Delete Account."

I have the same issue as described (iCloud invites thru 1/31). All of the Apple directions are only about deleting the “calendar” not the appointments. Unfortunately, I have valid appointments on the same calendar. There should be a way to simply delete an event from the receipt of the invitation as you can in Outlook (where these invitations do not show). Of interest, on mine they are connected to a Google calendar.

The uncheck/recheck fix does not work on my iPad. I’ve got an unsolicited invitation that goes on for a month. It’s clogging my calendar. How do I delete just it?

If you have a Microsoft Exchange, Hotmail, or Outlook email, unchecking and rechecking the sync calendar option will not help. Only leaving it unchecked in the mail settings for the account will solve the problem, but it would also force you to use a different calendar. Lately this is where the calendar spam has come from for users, so not sure if that pertains to you. You can check over at the Microsoft Support forums. I have included one that has 11 pages of complaints, but there are many more that affects users of all device platforms. If you can find the specific email that causes the problem apparently that will work, but in some cases it is difficult to find.

i have a ton of calendar items that I would have to transfer. I should’ve have to do this. How do I delete the unsolicited invitation? Apple should have an easy fix for this.

What mail account is that calendar synced to?

You have to delete the email. The calendar app simply syncs the events that were sent from the email provider.

What if there is no unsubscribe option? I continue to get calendar events and can’t find a way to make them stop. I go into my email, find the email and block sender and that doesn’t work.

Most likely you have a Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, or Hotmail email account. Microsoft has been having a ton of trouble with Spam calendar events on their email servers. Their Support Pages are flooded with users experiencing the same across all device platforms. The simple solution is to go into your mail account and remove the Calendar sync option. This will remove the spam invitations. Of course if you rely on that calendar, you would be forced to use another calendar option, such as iCloud.

I have the same concern--3 messages daily saying "RE: Confirm Your iCloud Reward. Have tried all of the above and still cannot get rid of them. They are through January 31 st. Do I just live with this until then? Or do you have a solution for this? Do I need to take my phone into a T-Mobile store and have them remove it?

Any advice would be very helpful at this point.

Thank you
