Kernel Panic MBP 2016 Sierra

late 2016 MBP 15”, Sierra

Kernel panic on boot.

Can’t enter standard recovery.

Internet recovery runs but at the finish line restarts into the Kernel panic.

Cant open safe mode. Ignores the command.

When in Target Disk mode I can boot the OS using a second computer holding option on the second computer.

I can only install Sierra on the target computer from the second computer. Ran all available Sierra updates. Changed disk format from macOS Extended GUID to APFS GUID, same thing. Using the second Mac to install High Sierra on the target Mac, gives me error, can’t install on a target disk machine. Can’t boot off an external SSD with Sierra installed. Can’t boot off external SSD with sierra installer installed. Can’t boot off external SSD with baseOS installed. Booting to target disk mode seems to be the only thing I can do. I’m guessing it’s the firmware. I was running Monterey last month on the machine, when one day it crashed. But I haven’t booted the machine in a month prior to the crash.

I’m hoping the kernel log will give you some insight. Thank you
